BioResyl™ — Dahurian Larch Resin
Resinous Dahurian larch fraction concentrating resin acids and DHQ for antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and regenerative roles in cosmetic and dermal care.
Overview
BioResyl™ is a solid Dahurian larch resin fraction positioned for cosmetic and dermal-care concepts focused on cleanliness, recovery, and barrier protection. It concentrates resin acids alongside a dihydroquercetin (taxifolin) fraction in a film-forming resin system inspired by the tree’s own wound-sealing response.
What BioResyl™ is
BioResyl™ is a solid Dahurian larch resin fraction obtained from winter-harvested larch biomass. It concentrates resin acids, dihydroquercetin and associated bioactive components into a film-forming, tissue-protective resin system that echoes the tree’s own response to wounds and environmental stress.
- Origin: Dahurian larch (Larix gmelinii)
- Physical form: Solid resinous mass (used at low levels in formulations)
- Formulation phase: Oil phase / balm base (typically pre-dissolved or dispersed)
- Compatibility: Lipophilic systems (balms, salves, sticks, anhydrous oils; some emulsions via oil phase)
- Primary use: Protective dermal active for barrier, recovery, and “wound-sealing” concepts
Key functional properties
BioResyl™ functions as a resinous defense concentrate with four key roles in dermal care:
Antimicrobial & antiseptic support
Brings larch resin’s traditional role in keeping compromised skin clean into modern cosmetic formulations.
Anti-inflammatory and soothing
Supports anti-redness and calming narratives in products for stressed, exposed or localized problem areas (within cosmetic positioning).
Regenerative and protective
Fits into concepts focused on regeneration, resilience and recovery for chapped, cracked or environmentally stressed skin.
Film-forming barrier contribution
At low inclusion levels, contributes a thin, occlusive protective layer that helps shield localized areas from environmental exposure while other actives work.
Cosmetic & dermal applications
Typical concepts and formats:
- Regenerating creams and protective balms for hands, feet and localized roughness
- SPF and environmental-defense products where an antioxidant, film-forming resin supports the overall protection story
- Moisturising and barrier-care formulas, including lip care, that benefit from mild occlusion and antiseptic support
- Targeted spot treatments for small areas of compromised or stressed skin (within cosmetic claim frameworks)
Responsible origin & platform context
BioResyl™ is produced from winter-harvested Dahurian larch stumps, a renewable by-product of managed forestry. No live trees are harvested specifically for extraction. It is part of Dahurian Bioactives’ Oil & Resin Systems, complementing BioGala™ (Structural Fiber Domain™) and BioQin™ (Flavonoid Defense Domain™) within a cohesive Dahurian larch ingredient portfolio.
Development stage & project use
Development-stage ingredient
BioResyl™ is currently offered as a development-stage ingredient. Lead times and sample availability are coordinated individually, with a focus on projects exploring regenerating, protective and barrier-support cosmetic concepts.
